Program description

The University of Lethbridge is ranked as one of the most research-intensive universities for its size in Canada. Faculty members in Health Sciences have active research programs that examine health, wellness and quality of life within a variety of populations. We also research health systems, services and policies. We actively engage MSc students in our research activities and provide mentorship in a wide range of methodologies.

As an MSc student in our program you will learn applied research skills and gain the hands-on research experience you need to compete for research careers in government, industry, the health-care system, non-profit organizations, and universities. During our 2-year program, you will complete a minimum of 4 courses, and a thesis under the direction of an academic supervisor and thesis committee.

For an MSc student who is admitted unconditionally, four to six graduate term courses or equivalent (12.0 to 18.0 credit hours) are required, as listed below:
Health Sciences 5100 - Research Methodologies
One of:
Health Sciences 5300 - Advanced Statistics
Health Sciences 5400 - Advanced Qualitative Analysis
Additional courses should be selected in consultation with the student's supervisor.

Please contact graduate.health@uleth.ca if you have additional questions about this major.
