Biology is the study of living organisms and the study of the animal and plant life of a particular region.

Science students at UNB Saint John can pursue a bachelor of science (BSc.) with a major or honours in biology.

Pursue research

Students may also pursue postgraduate research and training in biology at both the MSc and PhD levels in Saint John.

The campus offers a choice of general studies or zoology.

Each is based on a set of required courses plus a number of electives. We emphasize whole organism biology and ecology.

Individual interests

A BSc. in general biology is very flexible and can be tailored to your individual interests as well as toward any entrance requirements for professional schools.

At the end of your program in general biology, you will be a trained biologist with a background in botany, ecology, zoology and physiology.
