In this program, you can gain the skills and tools you need to understand the broader context of current issues in education. You’ll learn how to apply the latest research and learning theories to solve real-world problems, so you can create a better learning environment for your students. Whether you enjoy leading in the classroom or hope to take on an administrative role, our online Ed.D. program can help you rise to new levels of leadership in education.

Our core administration and supervision courses cover important topics in executive leadership, educational law, and advanced learning theory. You’ll also explore the role of district-level leadership in various system operations, including budget preparation, fiscal management, human resources, and policy development. Our course in learning technologies can help you understand current trends and effectively apply technology to the classroom.

Additionally, you will complete 2 practicum courses and 1 full-semester internship so you can put your skills to the test. Within these field experience placements, you’ll gain exposure to 5 different education settings — elementary school, middle school, high school, central offices, and agencies — allowing you to diversify your knowledge and skill set.

You’ll also complete research that can build toward your final capstone project. The educational leadership specialization offers an opportunity for you to hone your leadership skills and learn how to best serve your students and institution. Throughout the program, you can complete the requirements for pursuing licensure in administration and supervision — so you can prepare to take on new roles in the field of education.
