This graduate program in corrections is designed to help prepare you for unique and advanced roles within the criminal justice field – specifically in corrections management. In our prison management degree, you can learn about the policies and procedures needed to effectively run a correctional facility. Additionally, you can learn about some of the recent trends for deinstitutionalizing the prison industry.

Alternatives to incarceration such as probation and parole will be covered – as will the use of vocational and academic programs for offenders who qualify. Your instruction will include useful knowledge about the staffing of facilities, how to handle inmate health, and security concerns. You can also learn how to manage and implement effective reintegration programs.

In addition to taking specialized courses focusing on corrections, you can learn about ethics and leadership in the criminal justice field. You’ll also explore current topics and trends in criminal justice, be taught how to evaluate a criminal justice program, and study basic human resource principles for correctional facilities.
