This online human rights and humanitarian action degree is made up of 2 sections: core courses and advocacy courses. Each class in this degree program has been designed with the success of you and those you serve in mind.

Our degree begins with an overview of faith-based humanitarian action and leadership. You’ll study proper faith-based humanitarian responses, crisis and first responder fundamentals, intercultural communication, and the international human rights regime. You will also explore international human rights law, theological foundations for humanitarian action and human rights, and more – culminating in a humanitarian action and human rights capstone course that will challenge you to synthesize the knowledge you’ve gained throughout the degree program.

In addition, our human rights degree online allows you to choose a topic of study from the following subjects: pluralism and world religions, Islam, and cultural anthropology. Studying other worldviews is an excellent way to prepare for times when you’re challenged to defend principles based on a Judeo-Christian set of laws.

From there, this degree program ventures into the advocacy: law and policy specialization – which covers international law and diplomacy, domestic policy, and foreign policy. This collection of courses can help you develop a solid knowledge of the legal system and how it works concerning human rights and humanitarian action.
