Dr. Gregg explains how natural law thought and thinkers have made indispensable contributions to the growth of the tradition and institutions of liberty, such as rule of law, constitutionalism, rights, private property, and limited government, for over 2000 years. By grounding these institutions in natural reason and the idea that there is objective moral truth—that good and evil have objective content that does not change—natural law provides the case for the free society and strong limitations on power with particularly robust foundations.

Samuel Gregg
Samuel Gregg is Research Director at the Acton Institute in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He is also a Visiting Scholar at the Heritage Foundation in Washington DC, and a Contributing Editor at Law and Liberty, part of the Liberty Fund Network in Indianapolis, Indiana. The author of 16 books and over 400 articles and opinion pieces—he writes regularly on political economy, finance, American conservatism, Western civilization, and natural law theory.
