Profile

Founded in Switzerland in 1954, Les Roches Global Hospitality Education offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in the fields of hospitality, tourism and event management. We have campuses in Switzerland, Spain and China, providing a unique learning environment to a culturally diverse student body, in which more than 100 different nationalities are represented. We follow the Swiss model of hospitality education, with experiential, hands-on learning built into the fabric of the study programs we offer. Les Roches is not just a school, it’s a way of life!

Areas of Expertise

Les Roches prepares entrepreneurial and innovative graduates across a global network of campuses.

On Campus Housing

Students are accommodated in a number of residential buildings in Bluche. All rooms have ample storage space, comfortable beds and a place to study. Communal areas where students gather to work on projects, or just to relax, are available in most residences.

Career Planning

The Career Development & Industry Placement Office (CDIP) helps students to secure appropriate positions in the hospitality industry and provides them with administrative support. The CDIP provides full support for the internship program, which sees an average of 3 placements per student, per course. It also resources management training and job searches. Les Roches has strong ties with a large and growing portfolio of hospitality companies. 40+ leading companies from the hospitality industry visit Les Roches each semester, to make presentations and recruit.

Sports

Students can participate in sports on-campus such as volleyball, basketball, football or swimming. The campus also has a modern gym and fitness center, where students can use equipment free of charge. Additionally, the full-time sports coach organizes trainings and competitions for team sports. The campus is just a few minutes away from Crans-Montana, one of Switzerland’s leading ski resorts. In the summer, the tourism department organizes a full calendar of events, including the Swiss Open, a major golf tournament on the European Masters Tour, an event which several students help to organize. In winter, Crans-Montana offers the possibility for diverse winter sports such as curling, dog-sledding, ice-skating, cross-country and down-hill skiing, snowboarding, snow-shoeing, toboggan and snow-tubing.

Activities

The student social committee organizes many social and cultural activities on and off campus, such as the Cultural Night, themed dinner parties, quiz nights, disco evenings and more. The Café du Village is a focal point for running these events.

Clubs

Nearby Crans-Montana abounds with restaurants, clubs, bars and shops. "Le Petit Paradis", a bar and restaurant nearer to campus, is very popular with students.

Information Technology

All students receive a computer account, which gives them full access to the Internet. Hundreds of Internet connections are available throughout the campus and a Help Desk provides support to this networked community. All learning facilities have state-of-the art equipment, including computer projectors, color printing, scanning and copying, and audio visual devices. A new extensive libary with more than 7,000 on-line journals ensures that students have access to a wide range of up-to-date information.

Cultural

With 90+ nationalities on campus, there are ample opportunities to get to experience different cultures. Every semester, students hold a “Cultural Night” - an evening of entertainment and culinary specialties, which depicts aspects of their own culture.

International Involvement

To prepare students for a global industry, Les Roches provides an innovative, international network with campuses in Switzerland, Spain and China, plus partner institutions in Jordan and Australia. Students who choose to study at Les Roches can easily transfer to one of these top-ranking institutions for a semester abroad, or an international study program.

Campus Tour

Les Roches holds Open Days throughout the year, where prospective students can tour the campus, meet students and staff, enjoy lunch, and find answers to questions. In addition, it is possible to take a video tour, a virtual tour, or visit the Les Roches multimedia gallery. It is also possible to book a personalized visit with one of the Educational Counselors.
