Langley Flying School was founded in the fall of 1994, and originated as a small single-instructor and single-aeroplane Flight Training Unit. Now, the school has expanded to include six aircraft and a staff of eight Flight Instructors, three administrative persons, and four Teaching Assistants. During its existence, Langley Flying School has conducted over 20,000 hours of flight training and has produced hundreds of graduates in the Private Pilot Programs, the Advanced Training Programs, and our Professional Pilot Programs.
We seek to prepare our graduates to ensure that they conform with the commercial flight operation standards established by leading-edge air transport operators in Canada and the United States, including Westjet , Air Canada, and American Airlines. We base our success of Langley Flying School in our professional aviation training and the job success of our graduates. For example, we know that graduates of our Standard Operating Procedures Program will be fully functional as new-hire First Officers in a multi-crew environment. We know also that our IFR graduates will be fully competent in IFR GPS operations, and we know our multi-engine graduates are fully skilled at conducted single-engine landings in a Seneca on a 2100’ runway. We track the employment of graduates from our Profession Pilot Programs and know that 98% have successfully obtained initial employment in the aviation industry, in either national or international commercial flight operations. Most important, we know that our success—and the success of our graduates—comes from the continuous development and evolution of our Professional Pilot Programs to meet the ever-changing standards of commercial aviation in Canada and the United States—to this we remain committed.
