Profile

The Canadian Family Resource Institute & Career College is an accredited, private post-secondary training institute that was founded in 1984 and has graduated well over 3,500 certified health care workers (i.e. nurse's aides and activity aides). Our small class sizes and easy access to instructors and administrators has allowed us to continue to provide the personal contact, counselling, and service one expects from a private training institute. We have also recently expanded and are now offering our Nurse's Aide course in Victoria, White Rock, and Burnaby/New Westminster, British Columbia.

Areas of Expertise

The Canadian Family Resource Institute specializes in the area of health care training. The director has devoted his professional life to the field of gerontology and the well being of elderly Canadians. By developing the most comprehensive training courses (in this field) in British Columbia, the F.R.I. (Family Resource Institute) has been able to fulfill its mandate to develop in our students the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to promote and enhance the well being of the clients/residents they will be working with. Our philosophy embodies wellness, dignity and independence, and we expect our students to demonstrate these concepts during their training and subsequent employment.

Special Services

Our school is equipped to accommodate students with disabilities, mature students, and First Nation's students. We do not provide childcare for single mothers.

Affiliated Institutions

The school is affiliated with Western Town College, which provides ESL training for our students who wish/need to improve their English language skills.

Campus Tour

Everybody and anybody are welcome to tour our main location in Vancouver at any time during our regular office hours. Special arrangements can also be made to visit our various training locations.
