DescriptionStudents can choose either the thesis stream or the course-based stream with a major research paper. A further option is the Practicum, in which a student works in a community organization, all the while engaged in “reading” that organization as a “text” embedded in a larger social and cultural context.

An MA in the Humanities opens many doors. Our graduates have gone on to PhDs, medical and law school, and directly into careers in teaching, public administration, NGOs -- and even business, where their widely transferable writing and communication skills are highly prized.
