Prerequisites NotesA Bachelor degree with a a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0/4.33 (B), or a grade point average of at least 3.33/4.33 (B+) based on the last 60 credits of undergraduate courses will normally be required for admission. An Undergraduate degree has to be in a relevant field such as BEd/BA with Education or Linguistics (majors/minors) with relevant education and/or linguistics courses such as upper level Education course(s) in language arts, reading or language acquisition; Linguistics course(s) in syntax, phonology, or semantics.

DescriptionThis program is designed for educators working with English as Additional Language learners in a variety of local and international educational settings. The program will provide students with advanced knowledge of theoretical, research and practical issues in teaching English language learners. Normally, two years of full-time classroom teaching experience is required for admission to the program. This requirement is waived for admission to the TEAL-F stream.
