Description- Offered jointly over years by the French Studies Program and the Faculty of Education.
- Prepares individuals to teach with a particular emphasis on teaching French as a Second Language at the intermediate and senior levels (grades 7 to 12).
- Teachables: Intermediate Senior candidates choose two teaching subjects.
- Students should consult the Faculty of Education website for a list of teachables and combinations of permitted second teachables. Students should also seek Academic Advising from the department of the second teachable to ensure that there are sufficient courses available to non-majors.
- Graduates of this program will receive two degrees and will acquire the necessary skills and knowledge for teaching French as a Second Language (Core French or Immersion) in the English language school system (Public or Roman Catholic) and fulfill the requirements for recommendation for certification to the Ontario College of Teachers.
