Description | Positive Psychology is a movement that has challenged the field of psychology to reconsider the positive aspects of life. Instead of drawing on a 'disease model', it encourages empirical research into factors that enable individuals and communities to thrive and focuses on building the best in life. Areas of study include well-being and its determinants, positive emotions, strengths, resilience, creativity, optimism and positive institutions.
Since its creation in 1998, the field has grown dramatically, judging by the research output, widespread popularity and recognition by employers, as well as educational and governmental institutions. Facing post-pandemic and current economic and geo-politic challenges, positive psychology has become even more relevant through its focus on well-being, resilience and meaning. Our positive psychology pathways: MSc in Applied Positive Psychology (MAPP), MSc in Applied Positive Psychology & Coaching Psychology (MAPP CP), MSc in Applied Positive Psychology, Organisations & Leadership (MAPP OL), MSc in Applied Positive Psychology & Positive Education (MAPP PE), and MSc in Applied Positive Psychology & Positive Society (MAPP PS). | | |
