Prerequisites Notes | Applicants must have completion of BC Grade 12 or equivalent, or be 19 years of age or older. In addition, applicants must have one of the following: LET with a minimum level 3; LPI with a minimum 25 (or 24 on the essay with 5 in English usage); BC English 12 or equivalent with an ‘A’; BC English Literature 12 with an ‘A’; a university-level English or Communications course for which Langara awards transfer credit, with a minimum ‘C-’; or an ‘S’ in one of ENGL 1107, 1108 or 1110. You must also have one of the following: a minimum score of 80 on the Langara College Mathematics Diagnostic Test, 'B' or higher grade in Principles of Mathematics 12, or a university-level Mathematics course. Description | The Professional Computer Science and Technology (PCST) certificate program prepares people for careers in computing through a curriculum that blends theory with practice. This gives students the practical skills needed to find a job and the theoretical knowledge needed to advance in the profession and to manage change. The program is aimed at computing professionals or degree-holders in related disciplines who want to upgrade their skills for advancement in the computing field. The program also provides university transferable courses, allowing students to continue their education after graduating by completing a university computer science degree. | | |
