Description | Working on projects taken from real-life situations, you’ll experience the full lifecycle of building an IT system and developing software, including understanding requirements, building, implementation, adaption, networks and hardware. If you choose the four-year study option, you’ll also have opportunities to undertake work placements with organisations such as GE Aviation, GlaxoSmithKline, Kraft, Hewlett-Packard and Intel.
To build your experience of database design, you’ll work with the database technology used by cloud computing and social media companies, as well as learning about relational databases and the use of SQL (database programming language). You’ll work with an array of Oracle's systems as we're an Oracle Academy member. To build your project management skills, you’ll work with the latest project management methods, such as Scrum, enabling you to analyse and collaborate with stakeholders throughout a project. You'll also cover hot topics, such as big data, cloud systems and cyber security.
