Prerequisites NotesApplicants are required to have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent; English Grade 12 C or U, or equivalent (minimum grade required) or take the Centennial College English Skills Assessment for Admission; and Mathematics Grade 12 C or U, or equivalent (minimum grade required) or take a Centennial College Engineering Math Skills Assessment for Admission. Applicants must also be eligible to work as apprentices in Ontario. Mature applicants must present Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), High School Diploma or Certificate (OSSC) or GED (General Educational Development). Applicants educated outside of Canada must present evaluations of credentials equivalent to the above. This program is highly competitive. Applicants are ranked based on a combination of English and mathematics grades, as well as interview results. Offers are sent to the top ranked applicants only. Meeting minimum requirements for admission will not guarantee an offer.

DescriptionThe Electrician: Construction and Maintenance - Electrical Engineering Technician program allows you to train as an apprentice in the electrician trade (#309A) while obtaining a two-year post-secondary Engineering Technician diploma in the electrical engineering field.

Students obtain a thorough grounding in electrical engineering sciences and skills, including electrical circuits, maintenance of electrical instruments or devices, operation of electrical motors and power transmission as used in the industry.
