Prerequisites NotesApplications are evaluated based on the following criteria: Be the holder of a bachelor's degree with a specialization or a major in earth sciences (or equivalent) with a minimum average of 75% (B+) in the last two years and a 70 % (B) average overall; Demonstrate a good academic performance in previous studies as shown by official transcripts, research reports, abstracts or any other documents demonstrating research skills. To be accepted into the Collaborative Program candidates must be admitted to the Earth Sciences master's program participating in the Collaborative Program. To be admitted into the co-op option, students must be registered full-time in the EVD program. Applications for the co-op option must be received by the end of the first month of the student's registration in the EVD program. Acceptance into the co-op option is on a competitive basis and is managed by the co-op office. Enquiries should be directed to that office.

DescriptionThe Institute of the Environment offers a master’s level Collaborative Program in Environmental Sustainability. The program allows students registered in Earth Sciences master's program to specialize in environmental sustainability.The guiding objective of the Collaborative Program is to provide graduate students with the knowledge and skills needed to identify and analyze the economic, legal, policy and scientific dimensions of environmental problems, and to employ an evidence-based approach to develop rational policy options for addressing those problems. The degree awarded specifies the primary program - Earth Sciences and indicates “Specialization in Environmental Sustainability.” Thesis and research paper options are available.
