Description | Are you interested in using scientific principles to solve problems and develop better ways to make things work? Mechanical engineering is essential for the automotive, aeronautical, robotics, construction, software, oil/ gas, manufacturing, renewable energy and building services sectors. There are currently shortages of mechanical engineers and, by taking this course, you’ll have plenty of career options.
You will begin by studying a foundational grounding in engineering. You’ll then study more advanced principles of mechanics, manufacturing technology, energy systems and engineering design, potentially working on projects with companies such as Nissan, BAE Systems and Airbus. This BEng (Hons) course will meet part of the academic requirement to be a Chartered Engineer, which is associated with higher salaries. You can meet the requirement in full by studying and gaining an MEng (Hons). If you know from the start that you’d prefer an MEng, please apply for MEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering instead of this course. | | |
