Prerequisites NotesDirect Entry to Second Year: Students who have completed Algonquin's Office Administration - General certificate program, or equivalent, will be admitted directly into second year. Students returning to second year registering for the double diploma (Office Administration - Legal and Office Administration) are required to have a GPA of 2.0 with a recommendation of a GPA of 2.7. Interested applicants should contact the Finance, Office and Legal Studies Department. Students may commence in Level 03 or Level 04.

DescriptionThis two-year Ontario College Diploma program (Perth - delivered in a compressed format over 45 (Pembroke - 46) weeks) provides graduates with the theoretical and practical skills required to work as administrative assistants in the public or private sector.

Students develop knowledge and skills related to organizing and managing an executive office. Emphasis is placed upon formatting and preparing professional business and financial documents. Students participate in simulations dealing with realistic problems and solutions as well as develop advanced word processing, presentation, Internet, email, project management, spreadsheet and database skills in a network environment. Field placements are only available to students registered in the on-campus program.
