DescriptionOur program provides interdisciplinary courses on Canada and integrates the study of Canada in different departments throughout the Faculty of Arts at McGill. We explore Canada from all scholarly angles and we welcome every point of view. We mediate between the public activities of the McGill Institute for the Study of Canada and students, to whom we offer a special invitation to attend MISC events. We work closely with partner departments to ensure that students receive exposure to rigorous disciplines and methods and to innovative new media and techniques for expression and exploration. Distinguished visiting lecturers and guest speakers--and singers and dancers--as well as opportunities for student exchange and internship expose our students to the full range of geographical, political, cultural, and social diversity of this country. Students are also encouraged to attend congresses of Canadian Studies and to publish in our student-run journal. Our graduates go on to careers in government, law, business, education, social service, journalism and the media, and graduate work in the social sciences and humanities.
