Prerequisites NotesIn addition to satisfying the Honour requirements, students must apply for the Honours program in March or April of their U2 year. It is the responsibility of the student to find a professor who is willing to support and supervise the research project. No student will be accepted into the program until a supervisor has agreed to supervise the student. Applicants must have a minimum CGPA of 3.3 to enter the Honours program and they must earn a B grade (3.0) or higher in the courses making up the Honours program. .

DescriptionThe Specialization in Animal Production will be of interest to students who wish to study the improved efficiency of livestock production at the national and international levels. Students are exposed to animal nutrition, reproduction and breeding in a context that respects environmental concerns and animal-welfare issues. Senior-level courses emphasize cutting-edge aspects of the various animal industries (dairy, beef, swine, sheep and poultry).

These courses are complemented by instruction at the Macdonald Campus Farm, as well as field trips to many production facilities throughout Québec. When taken in conjunction with the Major in Agro-Environmental Sciences and the Specialization in Professional Agrology, it conforms with the eligibility requirements of the Ordre des agronomes du Québec.
