| Description | A Lather-Interior Systems Mechanic (Lather-I.S.M.) assembles and installs the non-load bearing (non-combustible) steel stud framework for gypsum materials in commercial buildings. Suspended ceilings are an integral component of the Lather-I.S.M. trade, which includes, but not limited to, suspended drywall ceilings, plaster ceilings, acoustical grid ceilings, metal linear ceilings, and specialty ceilings. Windload/loadbearing steel studs are installed in residential, commercial, and high-rise construction in conjunction with composite floor systems.
