DescriptionAs a form of expressive therapy, art therapy draws on artistic media and the creative process to help improve an individual’s physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Art therapists are counsellors trained to help people through art. The Master of Counselling Psychology: Art Therapy program at Adler University is British Columbia’s only master’s program in art therapy. It combines innovative practical training and a rigorous curriculum focused on traditional counselling theories and techniques, and an understanding of the psychological aspects of the creative process, with a focus on art-making and counselling methodologies.
