DescriptionThe BSc (Hons) Software Engineering programme is designed to develop your knowledge and expertise in the design, development and delivery of software for modern environments and platforms by studying a broad range of software development tools, technologies and methodologies. It will develop a culture and appreciation of software carpentry and codemanship: creating useful and usable software artefacts.

Our degrees are accredited by BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, subject to reaccreditation. ​​This programme also provides a deep understanding of the underpinning foundation knowledge of computing and information systems; you will also be exposed to the state-of-the art industry tools, methodologies and research that will shape and transform the computing and IT industry over the next decade. At a higher level, this programme will prepare you for graduate work by showcasing the impact and importance of software and technology to the UK and global digital economy; the UK Government estimated that the digital sector alone contributed around £105 billion in gross value added (GVA) to the UK in 2011, with IT and telecoms the fastest growing economic sector.
