DescriptionElectronic engineering technicians are employed in many industries including environmental, alternate energy, telecommunications, marine, military, and transportation. They are trained to assemble, install, test, maintain, and repair electronic/electrical equipment and systems. Good technicians are respected for being experts in trouble-shooting and defining problems.

Electronic technicians may be employed in a wide range of occupations, working for a variety of companies and organizations including: computer technician (for schools, colleges, universities, government agencies, hardware companies, and software companies), industrial technician (for the automotive, oil and gas, forestry, power, plastic, fishery, marine, and aerospace industries or their related government agencies), medical technician (for hospitals and medically related electronics manufacturers), communications technician (for phone, cable, cellular phone, radio, and TV companies), and electronic manufacturing companies.
