Description | Addictions support professionals help individuals, families and groups affected by harmful involvement with alcohol, drugs, gambling and other addictive behaviours. Working as part of a client-centred team with other professionals they design and implement strategies for dealing with addictions.
In this program, you learn about the continuum of services offered in this field. Topics covered range from health promotion to prevention strategies. This includes learning about the physical, emotional and social effects of alcohol, drugs, gambling, and other high risk behaviours. You become knowledgeable about addictions assessment, crisis intervention and creative helping strategies. You also cultivate diversity and innovation in your problem-solving skills. | | |
