DescriptionWhen rendered very small, materials possess very different properties than their regular-size counterparts. Discover the unique qualities of nano materials that will lead to breakthroughs in areas such as creating "next-generation" computers, developing nanoscale medical devices and perfecting microelectronic materials. Since the Materials Engineering program is focused on the processing and manufacturing of materials and the materials’ structure-property relationships, Materials Engineering is a natural home for nanotechnology, thus the Nano and Functional Materials Option in the Materials Engineering program.
