DescriptionThe Master of Journalism offered jointly by Dalhousie University and the University of King’s College prepares students to tell in-depth, evidence-based stories to the public. The first part of this professional program gives students research, interviewing and storytelling skills to report in audio, video and text. Students gain further experience reporting news for digital platforms. The program then takes a deeper dive into advanced public records research, visual storytelling skills and data skills. By the end of the second year, students will have produced a longform, research-intensive professional project on a particular topic. Graduates of the program will have the practical skills, ethical foundation and understanding of the media environment to work in a newsroom - or any field that involves journalistic skills.
