DescriptionThe Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science is offered in the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Alberta. Medical laboratory technologists are healthcare professionals who aid in the diagnosis, treatment, prevention and monitoring of disease by testing blood, urine, body fluids and tissue. There are five disciplines in Medical Laboratory Science / Technology: Clinical Biochemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Transfusion Science and Histotechnology.
