DescriptionThrough this concentration, you will increase your intercultural competencies and sensitivities for future study, work, service and peacemaking. You will develop your knowledge of the psychosocial and historical roles of culture in change and continuity, ritual, symbolism and politics, institutional life and creative expression, security, belonging and their loss, conflict and violence. You will enhance your understanding of the dynamics and impacts of cross-cultural and multicultural interface, including cultural, economic and political globalization. You will critically engage transnational populations and their cultural contexts of harmony and conflict, including localism, citizenship and nationalism, population displacement, statelessness and diaspora; you will also learn more about race, ethnicity and identity, world religions and fundamentalisms.
