DescriptionCarleton’s four-year Bachelor of Music program can lead to a career in music or to graduate studies in musicology, theory, or composition. Thirty-eight instrumental and vocal instructors assist full-time faculty members by offering instruction in 21 instrumental categories in musical theory and in historical subject matter.

In addition to the Bachelor of Music degree program, a four-year Honours Bachelor of Arts program focuses on music as an historical and social phenomenon. It is also possible to major in music as part of a three-year degree program. Students in the three-year program are introduced to the theory and history of music, and may pursue the study of a musical instrument.
