Prerequisites NotesTo be admitted to the Institute as a regular student, the candidate must be at least 18 years of age and must possess a secondary school diploma (DES) or an equivalent diploma recognized by the Ministry of Education, or have equivalent training and experience judged to be sufficient by the Institute. The candidate must also be either a Canadian citizen, or a landed immigrant, or possess a student visa or Ministerial authorization.

DescriptionThis course is designed for students with basic English language writing skills who wish to write more efficiently and effectively. Students will be taught how to write clear, concise, non-sexist prose; how to adapt their writing style to reach targetted readers; and how to overcome "writer's block". They will learn techniques for making outlines, generating ideas, organizing materials and developing a focus in their writing.
