DescriptionThe objective of this program is to prepare students to develop the skills and knowledge required to perform with the high degree of accuracy and safety in construction jobs, industrial and marine settings where rigging and hoisting is required. In this program, the student will learn to manufacture, install and repair rigging that is used to lift and move machinery or other heavy objects in shipyards, manufacturing plants or other locations. Upon program completion and pending completion of certification, the successful student will be able to operate heavy workplace machinery, ie: forklift, personnel lifts and with supervision, electric overhead crane, boom truck and mobile crane.
