Description | Are you a landed immigrant or Canadian citizen who needs to update English language skills to pursue your post-secondary studies? English for Academic Purposes is a rigorous and challenging program designed to prepare students for the academic demands of a postsecondary institution. As closely as possible, it reflects the authentic tasks and assignments that students will be required to do when they go on to credit programs in either college or university. This includes such tasks as delivering a 15-minute presentation in English, participating in a controversial debate in front of a panel of judges, reading novels and short stories in English, and working in a team environment. Previous students have found this program equips them well for the academic challenges and English language requirements of post-secondary education. | | |
