Description | The commercial pilot licence extends the privileges granted to a private pilot, but allows the individual to fly for hire. The commercial pilot is employable by an operator such as an air taxi, or they may choose to start their own air service. In most cases, the commercial pilot licence is coupled with a multi-engine rating, night rating, and instrument rating; several of the requisites needed for crew members in an airline operation.
Topics covered in this program include theory of flight, aviation law, engines and airframes, radio navigational aids, Instrument flying, flight operations, VFR and IFR navigation, airmanship, pilot decision making, and introduction to turbine engines. The program has two segments with classroom instruction courses beginning the first weeks of January, April, and September. Start dates for flight instruction are arranged through the administration. | | |
