Prerequisites NotesApplicants must be 14 years of age to hold a student pilot permit and 17 years of age to obtain a private pilot licence. Applicants must obtain a Transport Canada Category 3 medical certificate. If this course is to be followed by the commercial licence, it is recommended that a Category 1 medical certificate be obtained. In addition, applicants must also satisfy an entrance evaluation, which may include an interview, a qualifying exam, and an assessment of references.

DescriptionThe private pilot classroom instruction is held twice a week for thirteen weeks at the Abbotsford Airport. Classroom instruction courses begin the first weeks of January, April and September. These courses are held Monday and Thursday evenings from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Coastal Pacific Aviation also offers an accelerated full time Private Pilot Program during July and August. Students must register at least ten days prior to start date. Start dates for flight instruction are arranged through Student services.
