Prerequisites Notes | Applicants to the Radiation Therapy Laurentian University Joint Program must possess the following qualifications: an Ontario Secondary School Diploma; a minimum of six U Level courses including: 4U English, 4U Physics, 4U Chemistry, 4U Biology, and one 4U Advanced Functions (MCV4U is also strongly recommended); and a minimum overall average of 70% [Please note that although the minimum overall average is 70%, the average academic average amongst those accepted for September 2014 intake was approximately 90%]. Description | Future career opportunities as a Radiation Therapist include (but are not limited to): research, clinical specialist radiation therapist (CSRT), education, management, and medical equipment sales. Radiation therapists can also go on to specialize in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
Graduates are eligible to write the national certification examinations conducted by the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT). Certification qualifies graduates to work across Canada and allows them to apply for registration with the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario (CMRTO). | | |
