DescriptionThrough theoretical and practical learning experiences that emphasize communication and collaboration, you'll develop the critical knowledge and skills required to be successful in working with hard-to-serve populations, people at risk for being in conflict with the law, offenders in the community, and inmates in our institutions.

From day one, in semester one, you'll get hands-on experience at the Wendigo Lake Expeditions youth open custody facility, where you'll participate in hands-on activities designed to develop your team-building, facilitation, and leadership skills. You'll also get a chance to tour correctional facilities and learn from numerous guest speakers currently employed in the field who will share their tips, stories, and an outstanding breadth of knowledge.
