Prerequisites NotesA four-year undergraduate degree, from an accredited college or university, that prepares a person for theological studies. The degree should include at least 30 semester hours that are related to the disciplines included in the MTS program, of which at least 12 semester hours correspond to the intended area of specialization. An overall undergraduate GPA of 2.5 and of 3.0 (B) in the courses that correspond to the intended area of specialization. Admission may be granted to motivated applicants who do not have the appropriate prerequisites, on the condition that the student will meet these deficiencies by taking additional graduate courses to increase their level of competence. (A general guideline for estimating the number of additional hours of graduate study that may be required for those without the appropriate undergraduate prerequisites is to divide the total remaining number of prerequisite undergraduate hours by two.)

DescriptionThe two-year Master of Theological Studies program at ACTS Seminaries reflects a commitment to teaching and academic excellence. This degree program involves 50 semester hours of graduate study, and culminates in a written thesis that demonstrates competency in academic research.

The central core of the program offers a basic understanding of theological disciplines such as biblical studies, theology, and church history. This core serves as a foundation from which to engage in more focused study and research in one of seven possible areas of specialization: Old Testament, New Testament, Theology, Church History, Apologetics, Cross-Cultural Studies, and Septuagint Studies.
