Description | Statistics is the study of the collection, organization, analysis, interpretation, and presentation of data. The discipline is research-intensive, and includes many interesting aspects such as probability and game theory, statistical modeling and analysis. All of these are applicable to virtually every field.
The new Machine Learning and Data Mining stream provides a specialist program in a dynamic, high-demand, and fast-growing field that lies at the intersection of statistics and computational sciences. It is driven by applied problems in science and technology, where data streams are increasingly large-scale, high-dimensional and heterogeneous. This specialist stream is quite unique; we are not aware of a similar program currently offered elsewhere. | | |
