DescriptionThis 20-week program provides students with a combination of job-entry skills and knowledge to work on structural steel as well as pressure pipe in either the construction or fabrication industry. Traditional classroom teaching is enhanced with the use of modules for both independent study assignments to give student flexibility in learning the subject matter. The program covers a variety of welding and cutting processes, including oxy-acetylene, plasma arc cutting, shielded metal arc, gas metal arc, flux core arc welding, gas tungsten arc welding, carbon arc, and plasma arc gouging. Practical teaching in modern, well equipped shop facilities can lead to student certification in the flat position, structural, as well as T.S.S.A. (pressure vessel) standards.

In addition, students will be taught fabrication component and blueprint reading and how to work from typical shop drawings.
