DescriptionGraduates of the EMT program will provide pre-hospital emergency care in urban or rural locations, where definitive care may be minutes or hours away.

The field of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) is both challenging and rewarding, with ample opportunity for employment in the workforce. If you want to start each day knowing that you have the ability, education and skills to make a difference in someone's life, then the EMS field is for you.

In the EMT Certificate Program you'll learn the skills needed to provide basic pre-hospital emergency care in urban and rural settings, where definitive care may be minutes or hours away. You'll use knowledge in the areas of anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology to make a field diagnosis and treat traumatic, environmental or medical emergencies. Once you've completed the 20-week Program, you'll have experience in emergency care skills such as patient assessment, airway management, wound care, splinting, CPR, managing medical emergencies, IV therapy and cardiac monitoring.

3. Get your high school or post-secondary transcripts to Keyano College.
4. Provide proof of EMR certification and ACP registration.
5. Provide resume highlighting field experience.
6. Interview process for program acceptance.
7. Receive notice of program acceptance.
8. Register for program, pay tuition.
9. Begin training.
