DescriptionThis course is for students who want to learn, understand, and practice the kind of academic writing needed for success in university and in the professional workplace. Students practice reading and discussing academic texts, as well as writing about the readings in order to increase their understanding. They also practice summarizing and writing well-organized, coherent paragraphs and 350-word essays. Techniques for improving writing are introduced, including brainstorming, drafting, revising, editing, and exploring a variety of styles.
