Description | Study the science of life itself. Find out why living organisms are the way they are, and how they came to be that way. Biology includes a vast array of sub-disciplines, including ecology, genetics, behaviour, physiology, anatomy, taxonomy, and developmental and population biology. In studying Biology, you’ll develop research experience and skills in analytical reasoning, critical thinking, scientific analysis, problem-solving and interpersonal communication.
Our faculty members are internationally recognized for their research in fields such as genetics, ecology, zoology and plant science. Professors often invite undergrads to assist with ongoing research, experience that is highly-valued by grad schools and future employers. Students can also work as research or teaching assistants and can pursue their own research through our Biology honours degree program. You can also benefit from taking part in an active student society, international field course offerings and partnerships for study abroad programs. | | |
