Prerequisites NotesApplicants must have a BC secondary school diploma or equivalent. A C+ or better is required in the above prerequisites. Math 12 and Physics 12 are recommended. Applicants must also satisfy an entrance evaluation, which includes an interview process, a qualifying exam, and an assessment of references. Must complete private pilot flight test 6 months prior to entrance or one year prior to entrance with atleast 10 hours of flying time within the previous 6 months. Students who don't meet this requirement must complete a flight evaluation with Coastal Pacific Aviation or designate. Must also have completed private pilot written exam within 12 months before the start date or achieve a minimum grade of 60% in the entrance exam. Mus also hold a Transport Canada Category 1 medical certificate.

DescriptionThe Excel program offers graduates the technical skills required by today's airline employers combined with a college diploma. This program strikes a balance between the full bachelor's program and the One-Year Challenge program; ideal for students with no prior university education. Excel program participants are exposed to many of the core courses required in the degree programs, providing a solid foundation in both flying skills and business theory.

The two-year program consists of flight theory; airmanship courses; simulator and aircraft training, which includes the commercial pilot licence training; advanced training generally including multi-engine and instrument ratings; and an optional flight instructor rating.
