| Description | The field of computer music is by its nature highly interdisciplinary, encompassing music, computer science, mathematics, physics, engineering, psychology, among others. The University of Victoria is very active in the international computer music community, with artistic work balanced by scientific research, supported by grants from the Canada Council for the Arts, the Natural Science and Engineering Research Council (NSERC), and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSRHC). Their research and artistic focus is on new musical instruments, interactive performance and improvisation.
