Description | West Coast College is a pioneer in the training of Medical Laboratory Assistants in British Columbia. West Coast College is the first Private College in British Columbia given permission to train Medical Laboratory Assistants. We began our program in 1991 and are still the employer’s first choice for hiring!
This is a 28-week Diploma Program consisting of 24 weeks of theoretical and clinical study and 4 weeks of practicum in a hospital or private laboratory arranged for you by West Coast College. The Medical Laboratory Assistant plays a vital front-line role in the Health Care Team. A Medical Laboratory Assistant's main duties are to collect blood samples from patients; process blood samples and other biological samples for laboratory testing; perform electrocardiograms; perform front office duties while interacting with clients/patients. | | |
