DescriptionCarleton’s four-year Bachelor of Music program can lead to a career in music or to graduate studies in musicology, theory or composition. Instrumental and vocal instructors assist full-time faculty members by offering instruction in various instrumental categories in musical theory, and in historical subject matter. In addition to the Bachelor of Music degree program, a four-year Bachelor of Arts (Honours) program focuses on music as an historical and social phenomenon. It is also possible to major in Music as part of a three-year degree program—as a student in this program, you’ll be introduced to the theory and history of music and may pursue the study of a musical instrument.
