DescriptionThe Bachelor of Education (BEd) program is part of our Schulich School of Education and meets the requirements of the Ontario College of Teachers for teacher certification (Certificate of Qualification). It is open to applicants presenting proof of graduation with an approved undergraduate degree from an accredited university. The program provided by the Schulich School of Education is rigorous and demands a high degree of commitment. To be successful, a student must display sensitivity to pupils, a sense of responsibility to the teaching profession, and a respect for knowledge.

Graduates from this program will be certifiable to teach in 2 divisions: Primary/Junior, Junior/Intermediate, or Intermediate/Senior. The Junior/Intermediate level requires 3 full credit (or 6 semester) courses for the applicants teaching subject. The Intermediate/Senior level requires applicants to have 5 full credit (or 10 semester) courses in their first teaching subject and 3 full credit (or 6 semester) courses in their second teaching subject.
