DescriptionThis program, supported by the Ontario Association of Fire Chiefs/Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal, prepares students for a career as a firefighter. This program provides applicants with a pre-service level preparation to compete for positions as Firefighter. The curriculum provides the requisite knowledge and skills for commencing a recruit program with a mix of vocational courses in fire fighting, generic skilled based courses for enhancing job performance as a Firefighter and the required courses in general education.

The program provides the student with the opportunity of consolidating and applying theory through lab and field experience. The Ontario Association of Fire Chiefs/Office of the Fire Marshal Endorsement Review Board endorses the content of the program. The Board expressly does not endorse the delivery of the program, tools and/or equipment used in the delivery of the program.
